Terms of Service

Last updated: April 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Wallet Witness website at walletwitness.com and any investigative or forensic services provided by Wallet Witness ("we," "us," or "our"). By accessing this website or engaging our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Services

Wallet Witness provides blockchain forensic investigation, digital asset tracing, cryptocurrency scam investigation, and litigation support services. Services are provided on a case-by-case basis and are subject to a separate engagement agreement or retainer letter prior to commencement of paid work.

2. No Guarantee of Recovery

Important: Wallet Witness does not guarantee the recovery of any lost, stolen, or inaccessible cryptocurrency. No investigator or forensic firm can legally guarantee fund recovery. Any service or individual claiming to guarantee recovery of stolen crypto is engaging in fraudulent misrepresentation.

What we do guarantee is professional, thorough forensic analysis using industry-standard methodologies. Our investigations produce documented findings — whether or not those findings lead to recovery depends on factors outside our control, including the behavior of third-party exchanges, law enforcement cooperation, and the movement of funds prior to investigation.

3. Payment Terms

Fees for investigative services are agreed upon in writing prior to commencement of work. We typically operate on a retainer basis. Retainer balances not yet applied to billable work may be refunded upon written request. Fees already billed against completed work are non-refundable. All fees are denominated in US Dollars unless otherwise specified in writing.

4. Free Consultations

Initial case consultations offered through this website are provided at no cost and do not constitute a formal engagement. No investigative work is performed during a free consultation. A formal engagement begins only upon execution of a written agreement and receipt of any required retainer.

5. Confidentiality

All information you provide in connection with an investigation is treated as strictly confidential. We do not disclose client information to third parties except as required to conduct the investigation (such as providing evidence to law enforcement with your consent) or as required by law. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

6. Client Responsibilities

You agree to provide accurate, complete, and truthful information in connection with any investigation. Providing false or misleading information may result in termination of services without refund. You are responsible for ensuring you have the legal right to submit any wallet addresses, transaction records, or other data you provide to us.

7. Intellectual Property

Forensic reports, analyses, and documentation produced by Wallet Witness in connection with your case are delivered to you for your use in legal proceedings, law enforcement reporting, and personal reference. You may not resell, publish, or distribute our reports without written permission. Wallet Witness retains the right to reference anonymized case findings for research, educational, or marketing purposes.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Wallet Witness shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of this website or our services, including but not limited to lost profits, lost data, or failure to recover funds. Our total liability in connection with any engagement shall not exceed the fees paid by you for that specific engagement.

9. No Legal Advice

Wallet Witness is a forensic investigation firm, not a law firm. Nothing on this website or in any report we produce constitutes legal advice. We recommend consulting a qualified attorney for any legal questions related to your case.

10. Termination

Either party may terminate an engagement at any time with written notice. Upon termination, any unbilled retainer balance will be refunded within 14 days. Work completed up to the point of termination will be billed at the agreed rate.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation in the first instance. If resolution cannot be reached, disputes shall be submitted to binding arbitration.

12. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the website following any changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
